Originally quoted me close to $1000 for a simple belt, pulleys, idle tensioner with labor. Outrageous price. Offered 10% discount, I called around to other shops and was told that was far too much. Eventually settled for under $800 with Mike.. How generous!! Was told the root cause of my serpentine belt breaking was due to a bad air conditioner compressor, apparently seizing, and clutch was stuck open - Was quoted $1700 for a new AC compressor by them..I called around and other shops were quoting me $1200 for the compressor from Mercedes Benz - I purchased a new one on rockauto for $500 ; to later have the vehicle inspected by TWO different mechanic shops / one that specializes in German automotives that my AC compressor is in perfect working order. Had to pay out of pocket to have the vehicle inspected ; and now need to return an ac compressor I didn't need... Thank god for honest shops, As the AC compressor would require the AC system to be recharged, etc...which would be close to 600-700 in labor and services.. I would advise CAUTION, and make sure to get second or third opinions before listening to what they tell you!!!!!!!

We provided a quote to you based on our diagnostic and findings by our technician, our service manager was also quite understanding of your frustrations and offered you a discount which is something we don't normally do. Part of those findings was that you had an inoperative AC compressor at the time the vehicle was in our possession. We cannot speak to how it miraculously started working again when you took the vehicle to these other shops. All of our parts are from vendors that we have longstanding relationships with, and we know their quality so therefore can provide an unparalleled 24 month/40,000km warranty on all of our labor and parts.
